Kokomo Glass Company

Kokomo Opalescent Glass is the oldest manufacturer of opalescent and cathedral stained glass in the world.

They have the ability to manufacture over 22,000 different colour/density/texture combinations, and have been in continuous operation since 1888.

Wonderful for Leadlight and lampshades alike.

Glassworld now has a range of these glasses in handy studio sizes of 270mm X 200mm pieces. Wonderful for Leadlight and lampshades alike. Great range of translucents and streakies also available.

Add that professional finish to your artwork with this truly amazing range of glass!

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE GREAT VARIANCE OF THE KOKOMO MIX OF COLOURS IN THEIR GLASS, SMALL PIECES OF THE GLASS MAY NOT BE A COMPLETE MIX OF COLOURS AND WILL REFLECT THE AREA OF THE SHEET THEY ARE CUT FROM!!!
SEE EXAMPLE BELOW.

GRID265SML.jpg

The sample on the left shows a full sheet of Kokomo glass. The grid lines show how the sheet is cut into 270mm X 200mm pieces.

Note the colour variance in individual pieces.

One piece may be dominantly dark colours, others light.

Notes on Colour Accuracy from Kokomo Glass Company

  • The glass images on these pages were scanned from 2 inch by 3 inch pieces cut from sheets that are about 15 times larger. Please remember that this is a hand-mixed product, and variation is not only to be expected, it is one of the hallmarks of the way we make glass.
  • Monitors vary widely. For best results, you should be viewing these pages in as close to True Color as possible.
  • To get the most representative images, some were scanned with reflected light, and some with transmitted light. Most of the single color cathedrals and streakies were scanned using transmitted light, and most of the opals, opalumes, and pinks were scanned using reflected light. As with everything, there are exceptions, most of which should be noted on their respective pages.
