Lead Came
Lead came is the metal lead "joining strips" for your leadlight windows. Providing a construction method and adding strength to the leadlight panel.
Available in different profiles and also round or flat surface. Round "H" section is used for the central areas of the panels. Smaller sized widths of "H" section Round face are used for finer work where small detail is needed. Remember....the smaller the width of the lead the more exact your glass pieces have to be! Flat "H" section is used on outside edges of leadlight panels. This allows for trimming so that any imperfections in timber window frames can be allowed for. Smaller "H" section i.e. 6.5 flat are used for kitchen cupboards and smaller panels. "U" section came is usually used when a "Clean" edge is required and used when the edge lead will be visible, such as suncatchers etc.
Remember to always work safe with lead and DO NOT eat, smoke or bite your nails! when using lead. Wash your hands regularly or wear thin medical gloves is a good idea.

N.B. Lead is rolled into a circle for transport. We suggest the use of a lead vice to re-straighten your lead!. Lead vices are available in the tools section.
If lead is ordered by itself with no other products we will attempt to send in straight lengths if possible.
